She is as entitled to her errors as Tutu is to his. For a brief moment Brandeis seems to understand this.

Did Tutu call for an entire religion to be eliminated?

Reformed and updated (like Christianity and Judaism), not eliminated. As for Tutu I’m not sure anything less than returning a certain patch of land to the Arab Nation would be enough.

Do you have a link in which Hirsi Ali alters her position from the one she took in 2007 in the interview with Reason? In that interview, she said,

Hirsi Ali: I think that we are at war with Islam. And there’s no middle ground in wars. Islam can be defeated in many ways. For starters, you stop the spread of the ideology itself; at present, there are native Westerners converting to Islam, and they’re the most fanatical sometimes. There is infiltration of Islam in the schools and universities of the West. You stop that. You stop the symbol burning and the effigy burning, and you look them in the eye and flex your muscles and you say, “This is a warning. We won’t accept this anymore.” There comes a moment when you crush your enemy.

Reason: Militarily?

Hirsi Ali: In all forms, and if you don’t do that, then you have to live with the consequence of being crushed.

And

Reason: Here in the United States, you’d advocate the abolition of—

Hirsi Ali: All Muslim schools. Close them down. Yeah, that sounds absolutist. I think 10 years ago things were different, but now the jihadi genie is out of the bottle. I’ve been saying this in Australia and in the U.K. and so on, and I get exactly the same arguments: The Constitution doesn’t allow it. But we need to ask where these constitutions came from to start with—what’s the history of Article 23 in the Netherlands, for instance? There were no Muslim schools when the constitution was written. There were no jihadists. They had no idea.

I haven’t seen any change from that position, have you?

She doesn’t seem to recognize that, like Christianity, Islam comes in many forms and flavors.

6 Rameau  Apr 11, 2014 7:42:55pm

She isn’t thinking of eliminating Islam but of reforming it. (Nor is she thinking of converting most Muslims to her own declared atheism.)
Youtube Video

Some of the flavors should be reformed.

LOL a raw assertion accompanied by an hour and ten minute long video. I’m sorry but that is just so much fail. If you want to support your point with a verifiable quote, or the time in the video that validates your claim then by all means, do so.

She said straight up that if Islam, all of it, isn’t crushed then we will be. Anybody who conditions an apocalyptic vision in that kind of absolutist black and white demand to crush an entire religion is selling hatred, pure and simple.

You didn’t read what she said.

On that quote, I have to say that she’s calling for nothing less than a war against a religion that has 1.5 billion adherents worldwide…call me crazy, but I don’t want to live on a planet where that’s going on.
